PLAYER PROSPECT

CLASS OF 2026

Backcourt

Kingston Willis, 5’10 PG – Faith Family: Sturdy built guard that’s more of a floor general. Plays with his strength as an on-ball defender & ability to get to the spots. Solid shooter off the catch that makes simple plays. Physically developed for class and don’t know how much he’ll grow but he’s a productive player. LM

Silas Rodriguez, 6’3 SG – Denton Guyer: Shooter. An off-guard that has a good IQ for the game. Moves well off the ball, connects from beyond the arc & has improved as a ball handler. On the slow side in regards to food speed and vertical leap. But feel, skill and shooting prowess helps him compensate for those athletic deficiency. LM-MM

Trae Smith, 6’ PG – Cedar Hill: Downhill, tough guard that’s assertive and confident with the ball. Capable shooter from deep. Not the most in-control player. Can be wild at times. Like his strong frame, confidence and ability to get to the paint. D2-LM

Tyson Heard, 6’1 CG – TACA BLK: Intriguing guard prospect. Can really shoot the ball and has a quick trigger. Solid-above average feel for the game. Sees the floor very well but just doesn’t execute passes the greatest. Improving though. Needs to tighten handle more but he shows upside as a scorer & passer. LM-MM

Michael Gatewood, 6’1 CG – Waxahachie: Another young guard that can make shots from deep. A scoring guard that competes on the defensive end and is steadily improving on making reads with the ball in his hands. LM-MM

Wings

Donovan Criss, 6’4 Wing – SA Brennan: Straight knockdown shooter with adequate size. Probably still growing. More of a spot-up/movement shooter that’s limited off the bounce. Slower footed so he’s not blowing by anybody and at times can get picked on, on defense but he uses plus length to cover ground when getting beaten off the bounce. LM-MM

Jaylin Hancock, 6’3 Wing – Kimball: Promising wing-guard with a wiry, skinny frame. Good vertical athlete that plays with his length. Once he gets stronger, I believe overall skill set will show more because he has a more than functional handle, adequate pull-up shooter and quality athlete but he doesn’t play through contact that well. D2-LM

Isaiah Ward, 6’5 Wing – SA Brennan: A skilled wing that’s money with his mid-range game. Above average vertical athlete for his age/class, quality footwork when operating in the mid-post, plays through contact well and has improved as a three point shooter but still needs work. Physically developed, how much he progresses with his IQ and skill will determine what level he eventually ends up in. MM-HM-

Trae Nunn, 6’4 Wing – Waxahachie: A thicker built wing that shoots it from deep. Scores it on spot up situations. Holds a quick trigger, showing improvement in attacking closeouts and getting to floater game. Just avg in regards to athleticism but he utilizes body well to carve out space. LM+- MM

Antoine Almuttar, 6’4 SF/SG – Parish Epischopal: Bruising wing that really fits this positional-less basketball mold. Built like a tank, rebounds like he’s 6’7 but has a functional handle, slightly above avg passer and avg to below avg three point shooter (Mechanics are kind of funky). He’s too wide for guys to get through and rip him, can switch and guard. Not an explosive athlete but he’s a mismatch guy offensively. LM-MM

Frontcourt

Davion Adkins, 6’8 PF – Faith Family: Wiry, skinny forward with big-time wingspan. Lefty that’s athletic, plays above the rim. Runs the floor well, rebounds out of his area and has worked on expanding his game. Ways to go when operating on the perimeter but he shows promise. HM

Anthony Spencer, 6’7 PF – Faith Family: Athletic post that looks to dunk everything. Energy guy with minimal offensive skill but crashes offensive glass, alters shots and looks to play above the rim. MM

Lance Williams, 6’7 PF/SF – ISchool: A tweener with high ceiling. Lance is more perimeter oriented right now but that’s because he’s not strong enough to play through contact. He holds a smooth jumper and operates better as a trail/pop guy as a shooter. Handle isn’t bad either. There’s upside with him a wing way down the road. Just has to play with a lower center of gravity. MM-HM

DJ Ogoemeka, 6’11 C – WT White: Big fella sports a plus 6 wingspan according to his coaches. Could believe it as his arms are very long. Best as a rim protector, dunker spot finisher. Still raw and doesn’t play with a lot of bend. Muscular build though and finishes dunks through contact. Just raw but has a HM ceiling.

Ethan Sheats, 6’7 PF/SF – Denton: Another forward with a HM ceiling. Skilled forward with an adequate three point shot. Holds promising perimeter skills and is finding a good scoring balance of interior/perimeter. Playing through contact and his consistency with motor are areas of growth.

Macodou Diouf, 6’8 C – PSAT: Raw big man that I got to catch a few weeks ago. Long, engine stays running and albeit foul prone, he’s active as a rim protector. Moves fairly well, competes on the glass and defensively, but shows flashes a post threat down the road. MM-MM+

Xavier Robinson, 6’7 PF – Dynamic Prep: Lean with long arms. Xavier is a face-up, hardworking forward that gains his minutes due to his efforts on the glass. From a skill perspective, he can face-up and shoot from 12-15ft out. Just not his role right now. One to keep tabs of because I think there’s aspects of his game that will be unlocked as he gets older. Could go higher than projection. LM+-MM

2025

Backcourt

Kingston Flemings, 6’2 PG – SA Brennan: Really can impact games with his passing and scoring. Lanky pg with plus passer feel, motor and vertical pop. Shooting can be inconsistent but mechanics are looking better and I think will be in a good place when he gets to college. HM

Cam Cowgill, 6’2 SG – SA Brennan: Knockdown shooter who’s efficient as a spot-up & movement shooter. Getting better attacking closeouts and getting to mid-range pull. Slow footed, not much athletic pop to him but he shoots it with range and needs minimal space. LM-MM

Trent Pane, 5’10 PG – Allen: Downhill, athletic guard that, albeit undersized, is one of the fastest players with ball in his hands in 2025. Can impact games with scoring and passing, be a pest on defense when he’s locked in. Consistency has been a big thing for him also but he’s very talented. MM- to MM

King Grace, 6’4 2/1 CG – Waxahachie: Scoring 2/1 that’s improved as a decision maker. Still needs to work on it but this season he will play a lot on the ball with Waxahachie. Strong built, tough and can score it in bunches off the bounce. HM

Kayden Edwards, 6’2 2/1 CG – Duncanville: Talk about scoring it in bunches. Edwards is a speedy lefty that’s a fearless player. Shoots from way deep, can make three pointers comfortably off the bounce and he’s fast with the ball. Can be very left dependant at times and shot selection can come into question but he’s a bucket and made mass strides in his overall defensive game. HM

Cam Carroll, 6’2 PG – South Grand Prairie: Sturdy built guard that thrives getting into the paint. Decent shooter off the catch, but bread and butter is getting into teeth of defense and making a play. MM-MM+

Bryce Melvin, 6’4 2/1 CG – RWG Stem: One that has been seeing his name rise in the rankings state-wide. A big combo that shoots it from deep. Has good body control and knows how to use his large frame to gain an advantageous position on offense. Not much blow by speed and he could tighten his handle as well. Sometimes he gets loose with it under pressure. Has a chance. MM-HM

Leroy Kelly, 6’2 CG – Dynamic Prep: Scoring guard that when confident, makes shots with efficiency off the dribble. Adequate pull-up game as he is making transition to having more primary ball-handling duties. Level he’ll go will be determined on how well he can play-make and score vs translatable size and athleticism. LM-MM

Jacobe Coleman, 6’2 2/1 CG – Pace Academy: Athletic 2/1 that can score it in an array of ways. Score first mentality and generate a lot of gravity when the ball is in his hands. Pull-up shooter, three point threat, but does need to improve as a playmaker. Sometimes is shot happy. MM+-HM-

Dylan Hall, 6’2 CG – TACA Gold: Combo that has extended range on his jumper. Capable play-maker that finds open man because he generates a crowd due to his shooting prowess. Shot selection needs to improve but has the upside of becoming a D1 guard. LM-LM+

Des Jones, 5’10 PG – Lancaster: Tough, quick guard that gets to the paint. Has array of ways of finishing inside the arc, changes speeds and direction well with handle, but he needs to be better creating and playmaking vs bigger, longer defenders. D2-LM-

Jaylon Brown, 6’2 CG – Pace Academy: Athletic scoring guard with decent length. Shows promising pull-up game and finishing efficiency vs length. Emotionally needs to be more in control but he’s talented. D2-LM

Jaylan Lawal, 6’2 CG – Ischool: Strong body guard that’s primed for a breakout level season. Shoots it well off the move, athletic playing off two feet and a willing passer. Combination of strength, shooting and improved passer feel gives him a MM-HM projection.

Jaylon Dean-Vines, 6’4 SG – Kimball: Athletic 2 guard that’s a reliable shooter off the catch. Has vertical pop jumping off one or two feet, he has a functional enough of a handle to be able to get downhill or attack a closeout to drive to the rim. Still hasn’t put it all together but he’s coming along. MM-HM-

LD Jones, 6’3 2/1 CG – North Forney: Interesting case with this one. Consistency hasn’t been there but from a talent and physical profile, it’s there. Downhill guard with long arms and can score it very well inside the arc. A capable shooter from deep as well, that when hot from the perimeter, can detonate defenses in a multitude of ways. Just not consistent with play. LM-MM

Michael Solaji, 5’11 PG – PSAT National: Quick, high feel guard that gets paint touches. A table setter. Looks to get his teammates involved. He has a muscular frame, defends full length and consistently puts pressure on the defense with his driving abilities. LM-LM+

Wings

BJ Davis Ray, 6’6 2025 SF – Duncanville: A score-first wing that excels with his off the dribble shooting. Can post up smaller guys and exploit size mismatch. Short memory on miss shots. Needs to learn how to impact games when shots aren’t going in. HM- to HM

Cam Smith, 6’6 SF – Duncanville: Lefty, lanky wing with big-time ceiling. Best basketball is ahead of him. Above avg athlete, long arms and is at his best in transition as a playmaker & finisher. Just needs to play through contact better and can get turnover prone. As far as physical tools and skill, there’s a lot up upside here. MM-HM

Cam Paul, 6’7 2025 SF/PF – South Grand Prairie: Cam has a solid frame with added muscle. Athletic scoring wing that scores it off the dribble. Can guard about 3-4 positions in the high school level, rebounds well and scores it in isolation. Settles for tough shots. HM

Jermaine O’Neal Jr, 6’5 SF – Dynamic Prep: A wing with added muscle to his frame. Effective spot up three point shooter and operates well in the mid-post. Slightly above avg vertical athlete, solid moving lateral and improved strength allows him to play through contact. Limited off the dribble. More of your 3&D type wing. MM+

Lamont Hartfield, 6’5 SF – Faith Family: Lefty shooter with good size at 6’5. Shows flashes of a scorer off the bounce (Where there’s some intriguing burst on his straight line drives) but he’s most efficient shooting on the move and bounce. Wing with a strong frame and shooting prowess. LM-MM

Luke Laczkowski, 6’6 SF – St. Marks: A Lanky 3-man that’s a marksman from deep. Knows how to move without the ball in his hands and creates shot opportunities for himself and teammates. Good athlete jumping off one in the open court. Just need to play with more bend. LM-LM+

Ben Price, 6’6 SF/PF – WT White: Athletic ¾ and really he’s more of a 4. Uses vertical pop and athleticism to make plays on both ends. Put-back & transition dunks, above the rim catching rebounds and can make a catch n shoot three from time to time. LM-MM

Jon Price, 6’6 SF – WT White: Brother of Ben. Better of the two. Vastly improved as a shooter and is dependable making shots from deep. This is allowing him to get to the rim easier and finishing with dunks on drives. Still moves a little uncoordinated but I like how much he has improved in the past year. MM-MM+

Javonte Johnson, 6’5 SF – SA Brennan: Athletic, makes open threes. Fine enough arm length and the physical tools to defend multiple positions.LM

Aeneas Alexander, 6’6 PF/SF – Pace Academy: Lefty, skilled forward with terrific footwork. Can make trail threes, a threat in the post due to his array of moves on the block. Not a great athlete but he keeps defenders at bay with up-fakes and footwork. LM-MM-

Markese Young, 6’5 SF/PF – South Grand Prairie: Hardworking tweener that plays taller than his height. Rebounds, aggressive driver and finisher and competes vs guys taller than him. Jumper mechanics aren’t great but he has good touch on floaters and can make a mid-range shot when open. Just a hard playing, athletic tweener that doesn’t need plays drawn for him to be effective. LM-LM+

Frontcourt

Isaiah Kalala, 6’8 PF 2025 PF – WT White: Pogo-stick big man with decent length. Plays above the rim on finishes and rebounds. Strong help-side shot-blocker, can face-up and shoot with clean release. A lot of upside with this one just lacks feel. Re-classing to 2025 class. Young for his age as a 2024. Hasn’t played organized ball for long. Real upside as a shooter. Can make spot up and trail threes. HM

Parker Jefferson, 6’9 2025 C/PF – Waxahachie: Very skilled big man. Great passer and shooter for his age and size. Loads up when he wants to jump and I wouldn’t say athleticism is his strong trait of his but he makes up for it with his skill and shooting. In the best shape I’ve seen him in about 2yrs. Won’t be every coaches’ cup of tea. HM

Jaden Toombs, 6’9 C – Dynamic Prep: Broad frame post that’s one of the most productive players in the class. Soft hands and touch, lost weight which is allowing him to move better and he can score with either hand. Below-at the rim finisher but he knows how to seal and finish vs length fairly well. HM

David Iweze, 6’9 2025 PF – Ischool: PF prospect with long arms and the ideal frame to build on. One of the best frontcourt passers in the 2025 class. Finds cutters, shooters on the skip pass, etc. Shot looks clean coming off hand, can alter shots due to his length. Just production is choppy. Needs to become a better finisher in traffic, needs to keep motor up. Still with all that, the talent and upside is clearly there and he has “wow” moments. Just haven’t put it together yet. HM- to HM

DJ Thomas, 6’8 C/PF – Allen: Frontline prospect with sturdy frame. Better offensively with back to the basket but can face-up and shoot. Real upside with three point shooting. Decent athlete at best LM-MM

Jed Nansha, 6’7 C/PF – Dallas Hillcrest: Wider, broader framed post with long arms. Primarily back to the basket guy that’s dependable when shooting off the left shoulder. Face-up game is coming along. Plays hard, active on the glass, holds winning intangles. MM-MM+

Aidan Duran, 6’7 PF – PSAT: Wing forward with thicker frame.Capable shooter off the catch, post up smaller guys, make trail threes. Using body better to carve space when operating in the post. LM-MM

Jaylan Jackson, 6’10 C – TACA BLK: Raw big man with a lot of upside. 6’10 pushing 6’11 with a 7’4 wingspan. Dependable mid-range shooter and knows how to use his length as a shot deterrent. Skinny though, can get pushed around by bigger post but the way he moves, his physical profile and shooting promise gives him a chance. LM-MM

Lance Carr, 6’7 PF – Lancaster: Athletic forward that possesses a wiry, long frame. Plays with a lot of energy. A slasher at this point that shows promise as a shooter down the road with fine mechanics. I like how he’s expanding his game and there’s upside with his face-up game. Still raw though. MM-MM+

Amari Reed, 6’6 PF – Lancaster: Forward with a wiry frame. Athletic, active rebounder on both ends, runs the floors well, aggressive interior defender. Makes plays off motor. Offensive skill set is getting better but ways away. Just plays that hard all the time. Shows upside as a consistent shooter from 12-15 ft out. Fantastic, respectable kid. MM-MM+

CLASS OF 2024

Backcourt

TJ Burch (McNeese State Commit) – TACA Gold: Tough, fast, downhill guard that gets to the teeth of the defense anytime he wants. Finishing abilities translate, the shot, albeit not a big-time asset, has improved and can keep defenses honest. Defensively needs to compete more on that end. MM

Deontrell Barrett, 6’ PG – Lancaster: Burly guard that has improved body (lost 22lbs in past yr). Lefty, get’s to the rim, knows how to run a team and competitive. D2-NAIA

Perico Smith, 6’4 2/1 CG – TACA Gold: Strong built 2/1 that plays at his own pace. Crafty scorer that keeps defenders at bay with hang dribbles. Good feel for the game and a better pull-up midrange shooter than three point spot-up guy. D2/NAIA/JUCO

Jayce Spann, 6’2 CG – TACA Gold (Paul Quinn Commit): Athletic, strong built guard with an endless motor. A problem when he gets to the paint and can finish above the rim. Defends with physicality, can even place him as a small ball 4 and he’s effective there. On the ball, he’s a willing passer, but needs to be more accurate with his passes. Also can get out of control. Another player with D1 upside but needs to polish skill-set once he gets out of high school. D2-LM

Chase Ashby, 6’3 CG – PSAT National: A sturdy built guard that knows how to draw fouls and get to the free throw line. Like the poise he plays with and makes timely shots. Just a strong combo with a good feel for the game and a dependable shot maker. D2-LM

Isaac Williams, 6’4 CG – Faith Family: Physical, downhill guard that has a quality mid-range shot off the dribble. Below average three point shooter. Better at knowing how to run a team. Above avg vertical athlete that shows bounce in the open court. Quality on-ball defender. LM-MM

Jazz Henderson, 5’9 PG – Faith Family: Fits definition of a floor general. Defends full-length, loves to get teammates involved and has improved jumper enough to hit the open ones which allows defenses to not completely help off of him. Just on the small side but he’s a winner, steadily productive and knows how to run a team. D2-LM

Kamoni Seiber, 6’2 CG – North Crowley: Shifty guard that changes direction well. Shooter off the catch, crafty finisher around the rim. Slightly above avg athlete. Just a crafty combo that’s fine playing on and off. D2-LM

Jaylen Washington, 5’9 PG – Dynamic Prep: Shifty guard that’s quick off the bounce. A lot of wiggle with handle, tough on ball defender that gets in personal space. Shooting comes into question. LM+-MM

Maleek Archie, 6’3 2/1 CG – McKinney: Like the versatility in Malek’s game. Has improved when taking the role as a primary ball-handler, taking care of the ball under pressure not getting rushed as much. Still work to be done but seeing growth. Archie applies rim pressure all due to his ability to get downhill, a solid catch & shoot threat. LM-LM+

Kaiden Myers, 6’4 CG – Allen: Athletic guard with a strong frame. Versatile at guard spot. Defends and uses vertical pop to alter shots vs bigger defenders. More of a downhill specialist that can make open perimeter shots on spot-up situations. Could be a better passer off live dribble. LM-MM-

Devin Boone, 6’3 SG – Red Oak: Was just an athletic slasher/cutter but showing reliability as a catch n shoot guy on corner threes. Solid developing 3&D guy. Handle is shaky, just needs to keep polishing and enhancing overall three point shooting. D2-LM-

Braden Pitts, 6’4 SG – Ischool (DBU Commit): Really coming along. Shooter that has expanded offensive game with stable pull-up game. Size, solid frame and holds a flamethrower from deep. Game steadily improving. Not great playing through contact. D2-LM

AJ Borden, 6’4 CG – South Grand Prairie (DBU Commit): A big physical guard with fine positional size. He threaded the needle on ball screens, finding the roll/short roll guy and he embraced contact on drives and finishes. Posts up smaller guards. Motor stays up. Not a very good three point shooter. LM-LM+

Trenton Thomas, 6’3 SG – Cedar Hill: Scoring off-guard, that’s a streaky shooter. Tough shot maker that can get hot quick and score in bunches.

WINGS

Cam Woodberry, 6’5 Wing – Goodvision: Muscular wing prospect that’s becoming a more reliable secondary/tirtiary ball-handler. Thrives as a slasher but keeps defenses honest enough with his jumper. Consistency isn’t there and sometimes he over-dribbles which causes turnovers. He’s a D1 level talent but may not be the best fit coming out of high school. D2-LM

Anthon McDermott, 6’5 SG/SF – Hallsville: Big time versatile shooter that plays with an edge. Good size at 6’5 and holds a quick trigger. Like toughness and shooting prowess. LM-LM+

Tyron Mason, 6’5 SG/SF – Plano Senior (UNT Commit): Scoring wing that’s a natural bucket getter. Mid-post package and overall off the dribble scoring translates. Shot selection could improve and his passing. But one of the best isolation scorers in the state. MM+

Front Court

TK Lawson, 6’7 PF/SF – PSAT National: Really has improved skill set. A playmaking tweener with adequate passer vision & execution. Can post up when has size advantage, capable of making an open three point shot and his added strength allows him to take contact when grabbing rebounds. LM-MM

Dillon Battie, 6’7 PF/SF – Lancaster (Temple Commit): Athletic and more explosive off two feet. Skill level is coming along. More comfortable from the wing and attacking. Mechanics aren’t bad but his shots end up looking like a line drive. Better than it was a yr ago. Keeps improving. HM- to HM

Leon Horner, 6’6 Wing – Dynamic Prep: Muscular wing that’s versatile. Defends guards and posts, provides solid floor spacing because he can shoot the three and athletically is above average. Provides toughness, scoring and defensive versatility MM+-HM-

Shane Barrett, 6’8 C – Arlington Heights: Athletic big man with long arms. Raw, doesn’t know how to play yet but has flash plays. Blocking shot at its peak, dunk in traffic, rebound out of area utilizing his length. Would benefit with post-grad year but he’s an interesting one with physical intangibles 6D2/JUCO/Prep

Trent Burns, 7’1 2024 C – Good Vision (Not Playing – Missouri Commit)

Doryan Onwuchekwa, 6’10 2024 C – Faith Family (Colorado Commit): Best center in 2024 in Texas. Doryan is a skilled big man with high feel for the game and is unselfish. Is extending shooting range but bread n butter is on the block & mid-post. Body language comes into question at times but no denying the talent and I think he’ll get out of that as he grows up. HM

Ashton Taylor Franklin, 6’7 PF/C – Ischool: Has made strides in his game. Earlier years, looked disengaged in the action but now he plays with a better engine. 6’7 with a plus wingspan, Ashton is starting to know how to provide a presence in the paint if that’s a shot alterer or creating 2nd/3rd opportunities with his team. Still raw offensively but shows glimpses of what it could be down the line. D2/NAIA/JUCO

Darkaun King, 6’6 PF – TACA Gold (North Alabama Commit): Skilled 4-man with a burly/big frame. Lost weight. Handles, passes and shoots it. Knows how to play and holds a big-time offensive package. Below the rim athlete with just ok length but IQ and ability to use his body and create angles allows him to score vs length. LM+-MM
